By using YuzuSSH you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Use govern your use of YuzuSSH ("the App"), developed and maintained by McFarlane Apps. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these terms.
2. Permitted Use
YuzuSSH is a tool for establishing SSH connections to servers. You may use the App to:
- Connect to servers you own or are authorised to access
- Administer remote systems with the permission of the system owner
- Perform legitimate development, operations, and system administration tasks
3. Prohibited Use
You may not use YuzuSSH to:
- Access any system without explicit authorisation from the owner
- Perform unauthorised penetration testing or vulnerability scanning
- Interfere with, disrupt, or damage any network, server, or system
- Facilitate or assist any illegal activity
- Circumvent security controls on systems you do not own or control
Unauthorised access to computer systems is illegal in most jurisdictions. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have permission before connecting to any server.
4. Licence
Subject to your compliance with these terms, McFarlane Apps grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use YuzuSSH on devices you own or control, for your personal or professional use.
The source code is available on GitHub. Where an open-source licence is specified in the repository, that licence governs the source code. These Terms of Use govern the compiled app as distributed.
5. Purchases and Subscriptions
YuzuSSH offers optional paid features:
- YuzuSSH Pro — a one-time purchase that unlocks additional features permanently.
- YuzuSSH Sync — a subscription that enables cross-device connection syncing and associated cloud features.
All purchases are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Pricing, billing, and refund eligibility are governed by the platform through which you made the purchase. McFarlane Apps does not handle payment information directly.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — no partial refunds are issued for unused time except where required by applicable law.
6. Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your SSH credentials secure and not sharing them inappropriately
- The actions performed on remote servers during your SSH sessions
- Complying with the terms of service of any server or platform you connect to
- Maintaining backups of any data on systems you administer
7. No Warranty
YuzuSSH is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. McFarlane Apps makes no guarantees about reliability, availability, or fitness for any particular purpose. Use it at your own risk, especially in production environments.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, McFarlane Apps disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, McFarlane Apps shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use or inability to use the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or system damage.
9. Changes to the App and Terms
We may update the App or these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after a Terms update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be noted in release notes.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which McFarlane Apps operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
